BSF Study Questions Isaiah Lesson 2, Day 5: Isaiah 4:2-6

Summary of passage:  The Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious.  He will cleanse the survivors and create over them a canopy of smoke and fire that will be a shelter, shade, refuge, and hiding place.

14) God is merciful and kind-hearted.  In the former, He judges and punishes his followers for their sins.  In the latter, He forgives and prospers those who obey Him.

Isaiah 4:2  Beautiful and glorious

Jeremiah 23:5-6, Jeremiah 33:15-18  Righteous who will reign wisely and do what is right

Zechariah 3:8  My servant

Zechariah 6:12-12  He will be a priest on his throne and will branch out from his place and build the temple of the Lord

b) Jesus but I am unable to support this with passages not already quoted above.

16) Personal question but I put He will shelter us and be our refuge.  He will cleanse us and we will be His pride and glory.

Summation:  Short today.  Short passage.  Relatively easy answers.  The main thing I learned is that Jesus is call the Branch of the Lord (never knew that) and am learning how often his coming was predicted.

Short is good in one sense if you don’t have a lot of time but bad in the sense I think you don’t learn much.
