BSF Study Questions Isaiah Lesson 8, Day 3 Isaiah 11:6-9

Summary of passage: Hunters will live harmoniously with their prey (wolf and the lamb); they will neither harm nor destroy for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord.

Questions:

6a) There will be no enemies. The Earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord. Hunters and prey will live together harmoniously.  Like the Garden of Eden.

b) The Second Coming, following the judgment of Israel and the nations that have not obeyed or believed the Lord, resulting in divine cleansing and restoration. Zechariah 14:7 It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime–a day known to the Lord. When evening comes, there will be light. Isaiah 4:2-6 In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious…

7a) Personal question. My answer: Perfect. No hunger. No war. No strife. No disease. No sadness.

b) Personal question. My answer: It doesn’t because for me it’s not real. It’s too hard to even imagine. I know perfection is Heaven when I die. Life on Earth will always be imperfect in my lifetime.

Conclusions: I’m sure I’ll get chastised for my answer to the last question but I feel so desensitized to the world and its atrocities that I can’t imagine such a perfect Earthly world. I can only see this as life in Heaven. I’m not one to harbor a lot of fears anyways. I concentrate on my immediate family and those around me and lately on the Bible and God as central to my life. I can’t think of all the horrors in the world or I’d go insane. I’ve accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I repent my sins regularly so I don’t worry over that aspect in my life either. I strive to be more like Jesus in my daily doings but, of course, I fail. I’m human. But I’m trying my best and I don’t beat myself up over my shortcomings. Earthly life is too short for worry and I want to focus on being with my family and helping them to grow with God as well.

This is what I think about 7b. I think your answer is right on but I also think that the perfect world is our destination. I believe that we will have a perfect world when Jesus comes to reign. Death does not scare me, how I die does.
What does this verse mean? Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Does it mean everyone has to hear the gospel before Jesus comes? I have always wondered about that.
It is so good to be able to comment, the sessions at BSF do not give you time and I would love to hear other peoples opinion.

I stumbled upon your BSF blog posts a few days ago. Thanks for taking the time to post these. It has been nice to compare and contrast after I finish my questions.

In regards to question 7a…the Holy Spirit convicted my heart of the fact that I am always concerned with my own comfort before fellowship with the Living God. Because I too had the same answer as you had (no pain, tears, etc), but if you refer to Revelation 21:3-4 it says that God will live with us and He will be our God and we will be His people. Anyway, I am praying that my first thoughts of heaven will be communing in perfect harmony with the Trinity and returning to the life God created from the beginning in the Garden of Eden. I look forward to walking literally in the Garden with my Lord.

    Just a thought…

Yes I truly believe everyone will have the chance to hear the gospel and decide for themselves before the end will come.
