BSF Study Questions Revelation Lesson 2, Day 4: Revelation’s Subject: God

Summary of passages: Various passages for the day.

Questions:

6)  Rev 2:7: The Spirit speaks to the church and the tree of life is the paradise of God.

Rev 4:8-11:  God is holy and is eternal and through His will alone all living things were created and live.

Rev 5:9-12:  Jesus purchased men for God with his blood and made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve God.

Rev 19:10:  Worship God.

Rev 22:17:  The Spirit and the bride invite people to take the water of life.

7a)  Personal Question.  My answer:  Only God is worthy of our praise and worship as the Creator of all things.

b)  Personal Question.  My answer:  His holiness, goodness, and justness.  Remember how He alone is sovereign and in control.  Live every day full of gratitude, awe, and unworthiness/humility.  Study His word.  Listen for Him in my life.  Give myself to Him.  Complete and utter devotion to His will is the best worship possible.

Conclusions:  Didn’t get a lot out of this.  Number 7 is too broad.  7b we’ve been asked several times before in past years.  Seems intuitive to me–worship Him with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, all your strength as the first and greatest commandment (Matthew 22:37-38).  All else will fall into place if you do.

I think Question 6, and all the passages mentioned in it, shows us how the TRINITY is involved in all of the eternal plan of God. God, the Father, planned it; God, the son, Jesus, carried out the plan of salvation by His substitutionary, sacrificial death for our sins and to satisfy God the Father’s wrath on sinful men; God, the Holy Spirit reveals it to us by indwelling us and filling us with His Spirit: “Hear what the Spirit says to the churches” Rev 2:7; 2:11; 2:17; 2:29; 3:6; 3:13; and 3:22.

I was okay with Q7 because there are many people new to BSF. We’ve seen this type of question before, but they might be new in looking for attributes (EVERYWHERE).
7a The angels (10,000 *10,000 of them) and *four living creatures* do it DAY and NIGHT. Never stop. It is for glory, honor, praise and thanks.
Humble position (fall down before) they encircled the throne and were loud.
7b. (From this passages.. or all that I know?.. I write little editing notes all over my lessons)
Using just these passages: Victorious, Creator, Sacrificed for us,

Meaningful: because He felt I was worthy. While this passage says people, not person, we read it individually and this makes me feel awe. I know my wrongs and He knew what they would be and still did it for me.
