Merry Christmas to you as well and thank you for your faithfulness to this blog. By the way, thank you for your prayers. My son graduated with a Masters in Civil engineering and a GPA of 3.6-God, once again, proved His faithfulness to us. I could go on and on about how good He has been to us especially since we lost my husband in a tragic accident almost 11 years ago while working for the state police. God bless you and yours! Beautiful. I had just written an email to our pastor. My heart was sad. After praying for a year for our neighbors and finally inviting them to come on Christmas Eve….We are a large church..190 choir, full orchestra, full bell choir, 30 sacred dancers..(3rd grade to high school)…service ends with any who wish to join us in choir loft, on stage etc to sing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. Around 200 respond and join us. 4 services. 3 packed into our 1700 seat sanctuary. 4th service about 3/4 full.
I invited them and saw them come into the 3rd service….then the children’s message…I am not sure even the kids made the connection. 95% about Charlie Brown Christmas story and Linus blanket. Do you have a favorite blanket? Do your parents?, Have you seen the Movie? I believe the connection (5%)was between Linus blanket and JesusChrist being our protection, our security blamket etc. I doubt the 4-4yr olds connected the dots. Then my hear was broken….the couple I invited, got up and left…they left. They never heard the Christmas message. Never heard the Hallelujah Chorus. Why do we have to use cheap props? Why isn’t the scripture message in the book written by God sufficient? Why? I sing in the choir and it was beautiful but my heart was still breaking.
Merry Christmas..

Very sad. My church’s service is very similar. Very light. Not heavy. Because of all the visitors. Pray for them as I will do.
