SUMMARY OF HEBREWS 5:11-6:3
The writer of Hebrews says that his audience is slow to learn and is like infants that need milk, not solid food. They are not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. He beseeches his listeners to move to the mature level of understanding God’s word and the foundation of Christ’s death.
QUESTIONS FOR HEBREWS 5:11-6:3
4 ) Repentance from sinful acts, faith in God, baptisms, laying of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgement. Repent is where you are truly sorry for your sins and aim to turn away from them. Faith in God that He is the Creator and the One True God. Baptism is where one publically proclaims they accept Jesus as their Savior. Laying on the hands is representing God’s word. Jesus resurrected to save us from our sins. If you believe in Jesus as your Savior, you’ll be free from eternal judgement.
5 ) Make decisions by praying first. Work to correct sinful behavior. Put God and His will first in their lives. Make God more of a priority in daily living and consult Him before doing your own thing.
6 ) Selfishness and busyness. My life is incredibly busy, so making the time to grow with God is challenging. Overcoming what I want to do and putting others’ first is hard as well.
