BSF Study of John Overview and Posting Schedule

Hey all!

Can you believe that September is already here?! I can’t!

However, that does mean that BSF is starting!

Overview of The Book of John

Here’s a brief overview of our upcoming study of John’s Gospel with Bible Study Fellowship.

The book of John will follow Jesus’ life with the point being to show he is God incarnate. Jesus came to fulfill God’s plan for humanity to bring humanity back to him after the Fall. Jesus dies for our sins, cleansing us of sin, so that we can be with God forever.

John’s book is unique in the fact that about 90% of the book is unique, meaning it is not found elsewhere in the other Gospels or Bible.

Here is BSF’s brief overview video HERE

Purpose of The Book of John

To record signs/miracles that show Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and if you believe in him, you will have eternal life.

What to Know About John’s Gospel

  • God will speak to us in words He gave us.
  • There are over 40 human authors of the Bible.
  • John uses the word “signs” to refer to Jesus’ miracles. The word “signs” appears more than 20 times in John’s Gospel.
  • The word “believe” appears more than 80 times in John’s Gospel, as John wants you to believe in Christ as the Son of God.
  • The words “live” or “life” appears more than 50 times, as believing in Christ grants you life.

What to Look For in This Year’s BSF Study

  • You should expect Jesus to show up and to show you the changes you should make in your life. He will be there to help you every step of the way.
  • God will shape our lives and tell us where to go.
  • You should expect great things because God wants to do great things.

My BSF Posting Schedule

I will begin posting Monday, September 4th. This is a week early for those in the U.S. but will help those who have already started elsewhere in the world.

Can’t wait to study with you all and hear how God is moving in your lives! Please share when you can!

God bless!
