Most of us have no time anymore, even with COVID concerns. It seems that the days, while chugging along, are always filled. So how do you study the Bible in the midst of personal chaos?
5 TIPS TO STUDY THE BIBLE WHEN YOU HAVE NO TIME
- Listen to the Bible. If you drive anywhere (which is the vast majority of us), you can listen to the Bible while in the car. Even if you are only driving five minutes to the grocery store. Any time with God is better than no time with God.
- Pick a Bible verse and memorize it. There are so many good (and short) Bible verses to memorize, and it takes very little time. Choose one every week, and you’ll be surprised at how much you’ve memorized of the Bible.
- Put Bible verses around your home. This can be on whiteboards, on the fridge, on your bathroom mirror, on your BBQ grill, and on your home gym. Sticky notes fit anywhere!
- Pray. When you pray, you don’t need anything — only a heart right for God. It’s that simple.
- Decide to read the Bible for 5 minutes every day. That’s it! We all have 5 minutes to spare, so just do it!

My latest obsession is to memorize verses and to find out everything about them while I am memorizing. It is increasing my faith which has been my prayer everyday.
The verse I am on right now is
Isaiah 40:28
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.
There is no searching of His understanding. We can only understand such a small part with our finite minds. As I read and learn more every day I rejoice!!

Great simple ideas to keep our focus on God. I used to listen to the book of Psalms in the car on my way to work, but it has been a while. I think this is something I will do again because I grew in my biblical understanding. Blessings!
These are great tips and remind me that even on the busiest days we can bring our focus to God.
When I was early in my Christian faith, I never tried to memorize verses but would memorize them anyway because I would write them in a journal and/or keep them on cards above my station at work. I think writing them was especially effective and I also love writing my prayers.
