Am I Broken?

This question popped in my mind during lecture this week and I’ve been mulling it over ever since.

We were talking about embracing suffering…

I have been fighting demons every day and it seems like I lose every day.

I woke up this morning with a new thought:  one day at a time.

In my other bible study (yes, I am now doing two and I’m not for sure why besides out of pure insanity) one lady talks about how her husband has not had a drink in 18 months. Admittedly, this annoyed me.  Until I realized it was a good idea.

Taking life one step at a time, one moment at a time, striving to do better, to be better–all under God’s grace.

To overcome whatever lies the devil is speaking to our hearts.  To think before act.  To remain calm when society says this world is anything but.

Am I broken?  Yes.  We all are.  And that is okay.

We don’t have to have it all together because if we did we’d be perfect.  And we all know the only One who’s perfect.

Yet in my brokenness I can still be all God wants me to be.  And more.

If I only choose to believe.  In me.  In Him.  In His purpose for my life.  And in my ability to overcome my demons.  In God’s power to do so.  Rebuke them and put them where they belong.  All as God’s grace and mercy flow.  Perpetually.  Forever.  Amen.

  1. Hi,

Believing in his word is the best that has hppened to me in the recent times.

I have memorized some of the promises he has for me and in my life and it is really working. one thing I know God is faithful and he will not forsake you when broken…. Paul was broken but his promise that the Grace is sufficient was enough.

I believe when broken there is always a way out not on human but the sovereign God.

  2. Preach it, sister! Yes, every day gives us a new, fresh chance as well as challenges. If this temporary home of ours was close to perfect, it might have an impact on our thoughts about spending eternity with our Heavenly Father.

  3. I enjoy your posts so much! Please be encouraged that when you put your faith out there, you are touching people and I pray that you “do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time (you) will reap a harvest if (you) do not give up.” Gal. 6:9 I am in BSF as well, although I do not look at your posts until AFTER I do my own lesson, hard as that may be!, so I have to dig deep with God. Anyhow, our lecture talked about how our cracks in our clay pots(our broken ness) allow God’s beauty and Christ’s light to shine thru. So being broken can be a beautiful thing. May God continue to richly bless you.
