Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Study of Hebrews: Week 2, Day 1: Hebrews 4:14-5:10

SUMMARY OF HEBREWS 4:14-5:10:

Jesus is our high priest who can sympathize with us since he was temped but remained sinless. Jesus offers mercy and grace.

Jesus is our high priest in the order of Melchizedek who was called by God. He offered up prayers and petition for us. He was heard because of his submission. Jesus learned obedience from his suffering and is the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.

QUESTIONS FOR HEBREWS 4:14-5:10

  1. Jesus was tempted in every way and called by God. He was selected among men and is appointed to represent them in matters related to God, to offer gifts, and sacrifices for their sins. He can deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray since he is subject to weakness. He was perfect under temptation, is in heaven with God, and knows temptation himself. He is the way to eternal salvation.
  2. Jesus knows the tricks of the devil so he can help us get through them. I love how Jesus uses God’s words against the devil. Perfect for us.
  3. Jesus himself gained the right hand of God. He gained strength from God. He gained knowledge to help us when we are tempted. I just have to take refuge in God when times are tough.

CONCLUSIONS TO WORDGO HEBREWS 4:14-5:10

I love how Hebrews reflects on Jesus’s temptations and shows how it is only he who can save us from our sins.
