Hey all!
I am in need of prayer. I have 2 old pets that will need to see the vet today.
I have a 19-year old cat that has stopped eating.
I have a 10-year old Irish Wolfhound that is struggling.
Please pray for them and for my family.

We just lost a cat that was with us 18 years. This prayer has helped us. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this grueling time.
Lord God, to those who have never had a pet, this prayer will sound strange, but to You, Lord of All life and Creator of All Creatures, it will be understandable.
My heart is heavy, as I face the illness of my beloved pets who have been so much a part of my life.
These pets made my life more enjoyable, and gave me cause to laugh and to find joy in their company.
I remember the fidelity and loyalty of these pets and will miss them being with me.
From them I learned many lessons, such as the quality of naturalness, and the unembarrassed request for affection.
In caring for their daily needs, I was taken up and out of my own self-needs and thus learned to service another.
May the illness of these wonderful creatures of Yours remind me that illness and death come to all of us, animal and human, and that it is the natural passage for all life.
I know that eventually my pets will sleep in an eternal slumber in your Godly care as all creation awaits the fullness of liberation. Amen.

I so feel your pain. I put my 20 year old dog down, only to have my 11 year old (4 months later) die from grieving the loss of her best friend. Praying for your peace. It is not a easy thing to do. I am still grieving.
Dear Heavenly Father, pour out your grace and mercy in abundance for these pets and all those connected to them. Fill them with your peace that passes all understanding. I pray this through Jesus The Christ, amen.

I’m so sorry, and I can relate to what you’re going through. My youngest dog is turning 12 this year, one is turning 13 next month, and out tiny schnauzer is the oldest. We don’t know how old she is because we got her when her previous owners didn’t want her any more. All these years later, it still hurts me even to type that. She’s showing her age a lot and is waking me up multiple times during the night lately. I pray for safe passage for all our precious pets when their time here is done.
