Summary of Proverbs 28

Righteous are bold as a lion. Those who seek God understand what is right. Blessed are those who tremble before God. A faithful person will be richly blessed. Those who trust in the Lord will prosper. Those who give to the poor will lack nothing.

Summary of Proverbs 29

Discipline your children, and they will give you peace. They will bring you the delights you desire. The lowly in spirit gain honor. Whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. The righteous care about justice.

10) Work hard and give to the poor. Be discerning. A faithful person will be richly blessed. Unsure what will change. Hopefully, God’s will be done.

11) When the righteous triumph, there is great elation; but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding. I think people know when good people are in charge and bad people are. Our lives are better when our leaders look out for our best interests.

Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Study of Wisdom: Week 3, Day 3: Proverbs 14 and 16

Summary of Proverbs 14

Wise woman builds her house with her own hands. Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly. Stay away from fools. The tent of the upright will flourish. The wise fear the Lord and shun evil. All hard work brings a profit. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life. Whoever is patient has great understanding.

Summary of Proverbs 16

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. The Lord works out everything to its proper end. Do not be proud at heart. How much better to get wisdom than gold. Pride goes before destruction. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness. Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.

Questions for Proverbs 14 and 16

6) They fear the Lord, they are honest, discerning, and thoughtful. They are kind, patient, and humble. Patient and humble.

7) God is in charge. He knows my next steps. He will lead and guide me.

8 ) A fool’s mouth lashes out with pride, but the lips of the wise protect them. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Kings take pleasure in honest lips. The lips of a king speak as an oracle, and his mouth does not betray justice. I have always been curt, so I’m always working on my mouth. I now take my time more before I speak and take the time I need before I respond. I try to be understanding and nice in all my communications.

Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Study of Wisdom: Week 2, Day 6: Psalm 16:8

PASSAGE IN PSALM 16:8

“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

Psalm 16:8

REFLECTION QUESTIONS FOR PSALM 16:8

15) Those against the Lord will be judged; those for the Lord will be rewarded and saved. It’s a universal problem of sin that there is evil in the world, that bad things happen, and that there’s not a whole lot we can do about it except turn to God. God is the global solution. Trust in Him for all things, including for the state of the world.

16) This is a tough question because all of them had things that spoke to me. I’m gonna go with Psalm 22. I pray, Lord, that you guide my path and that it be your path. You know my heart’s desire, and I pray you help me make that come true. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

CONCLUSIONS TO WEEK 2 AND WORDGO’S STUDY OF THE PSALMS

Great readings in Psalms. Always there is doubt and evil, but God and Jesus win in the end, which is the greatest story ever told!

Summary of Psalm 110

God says to his lord (Jesus) to sit at his right hand and he will make enemies at his feet. You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. The Lord is at his right hand. He will judge the nations.

Questions for Psalms 2, 16, 22 & 110

12) Nations and people conspire against God. They say God is too restrictive and that there is no freedom from obeying God. The same. People don’t like what God has to say, so they do their own way — to their own detriment.

13) I praise God for this life, for what he has given me, for his undying faithfulness, and his forever guidance. God delivers me each and every day from sin, and I am grateful.

14) Jesus is God. He is seated at God’s right hand. He is the priest in the order of Melchizedek. He will crush kings and judge the nations. He will lift his head high. Jesus is our almighty savior. I respond with utter surrender.

Conclusions to Wordgo Study of Wisdom Psalms 2, 16, 22 & 110

I love these verses where David bears his heart like we all do. How he asks God where He is. How he questions God, but he still has faith. That is my desire, too.

Two prostitutes came to Solomon, asking him to make a ruling. Each woman claimed that the baby was theirs. Solomon ordered the baby cut in half and half given to each. Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Study of Wisdom: Week 1, Day 2: 1 Kings 3:1-9

Summary of 1 Kings 3:1-9

Solomon made an alliance with the king of Egypt and married his daughter. Solomon walked in the ways of the Lord, showing his love for God. God rewarded Solomon by telling him to ask for whatever he wants. Solomon asks for discernment.

Questions for 1 Kings 3:1-9

3 ) Solomon married the daughter of the king of Egypt. This is an unbelieving kingdom, so the daughter could turn Solomon away from the Lord eventually. Plus, partnering with Egypt can be a dangerous thing or a wise thing. Knowing the difference only comes through prayer and the Lord’s insight.

4 ) I try to do right and avoid the wrong. I try to follow the Bible’s teachings in my relationships. I try to do good.

5 ) Reveals his own wisdom, his faith in God, and his obedience to his father, David, and the call on his life. Unsure what I would ask. I would have to think about it. Hard.

Conclusions to Wordgo Study of Wisdom 1 Kings 3: 1-9

Solomon was wise in knowing he needed God in order to accomplish the monumental task of leading God’s people. I know I need God’s help. My question is: Am I wise enough to ask and heed? Contact me with questions today!
