Hey all!
I have a special prayer request for myself.
I have an opportunity for a promotion at work. I just need God’s hand upon me, especially in the interview, which I am usually bad at.
Appreciate it!
God bless!
The parting of the Red Sea finalized God’s redemption of his people from slavery in Egypt. It also showed the greater spiritual reality of God’s redemption from our slavery to sin through the work of Christ.
When I stand before you on judgment day and give an account of my life, I want to hear you say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Jesus, give me a passionate desire to know you. Place in my heart an obsession to pursue this, it is what matters most in this life. That I might grow ever closer to you.
I read meditations by Anthony de Mello. It goes like:
I was a neurotic for years. I was anxious
and depressed and selfish. Everyone kept telling me to change. I resented them, but I also agreed with them. And I wanted to change but I couldn’t no matter how hard I tried. What hurt the most was that, like the others, my best friend kept insisting that I change. So I felt powerless and trapped. Then one day my friend said to me, “Don’t change, I love you just as you are.” those words were music to my ears: “Don’t change. Don’t change. Don’t change. I love you as you are.” I relaxed, I came alive. And suddenly I changed! Now I know that I could not have really changed until I found someone that would love me whether I changed or not.”
And then at the end, de Mello adds this one sentence: “Lord, is this how you love me?” And the wonderful answer is yes. Yes that is how you love me, how you love all of us. That unconditional love!
Jesus, you are the way the truth and the life. Do not ever let me stray from you.
So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.
The Egyptians and all Israel saw the power of God. What He had promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob He now frees Israel from Egyptian bondage and sets them out to the promised land. God always remembers his people.
The world is increasing in sin and wickedness. I pray to never be a part of the evil that surrounds me. My hope is to have favor in your eyes. Help me to not get caught up in the pleasures of this world. I want to live in a deep, intimate relationship with you. Apart from you I am lost. My security rests only with you, my God and Savior.
I want you to be the center of my life, in everything I do, say or think. In my relationships, finances and every area of my life. Jesus, you are the only source of light. I know that living my life pleasing and honoring you will give me the best possible life while I am in this body on earth.
Thank you for the experiences I have had in my life. All of the abilities that I have you placed in me in my mother’s womb when you created me. You give me the knowledge and motivation to use these talents to serve you while I am here. Let me do all that you have planned for me, instruct me and guide me.
I lift up my heart to you, Lord, I know you are nearer than I can ever imagine. I know that you always listen when I pray. This gives me comfort when I am going through difficult times.
The foundation of my spiritual life is faith. As I read your Word it introduced me to Jesus. It gave me faith. Now my heart’s desire is to have a closer relationship with you. Lord, as I seek you increase my faith.

The Passover Lamb was a type of the Messiah, “Lamb of God” through whom God would bring redemption to both Israel and the Gentiles. The similarities between the Passover Lamb and the Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ are obvious. The sacrificial lamb was to be without defect, just as the Lord Jesus was without blemish. It was the shed blood of the lamb which saved Israel’s firstborn from the plague just as it is the shed blood of the Lamb of God which saves men from the judgment of God. Jesus Christ was the Lamb of God, our Savior.
You blessed me, Lord, when you reached down and saved me. I was given the gift of the Holy Spirit which seals me as your child. I want to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit every day. Let my actions show those around me that I am your child. When troubles surround me, instead of grumbling I can go to you with confidence knowing that you will answer my prayer.
There are times I have a feeling of restlessness. I go to you in prayer and ask you to tell me what is wrong. Have I sinned? Have I ignored you? I sit still before you and listen. You never fail me. My peace returns.
Obeying you is sometimes difficult, but I know that if I take that first step and patiently wait, trusting you, that you will provide me with all that I need to do what you ask. I can step out in obedience knowing that you will keep me safe and protect me no matter the circumstance.
Lord, your power is not limited to one group of people, to one church or to one religion. You are alive in this universe touching people’s lives. How I came to know you was in such an unexpected way that I could not label it as religious. Religion is not only about love, it is about ultimate truth. Whatever leads me to truth, to goodness, to beauty is from God no matter which religion it is found. Your Word does warn about false teachers who can lead astray. Often with good intentions but with harmful interpretations of what it means to be a Christian today. Holy Spirit help me to discern when someone is not speaking the truth no matter what religion.

The Hebrew people were suffering under the cruel rule of Pharaoh. Moses asked Pharaoh to let them return to their homelands in Canaan, but he refused. In response the ten plagues were inflicted on the Egyptians.
Lord, guard me from pride, keep my heart from wrong motives. I want my thoughts and focus to be on you. I tend to stray and ignore you. When that happens, draw me back to you, guide me, lead me in the path you have for me.
Thank you for today and for the days that are ahead. I trust you and know that my future is in your hands. Faith and trust in you gives me peace. I am full of gratitude.
There have been times in my life when I felt lost. Choices where I felt my life was at stake. You helped me, Lord, to make the right choice and I was blessed. When I am in your will, you are with me. Every turn I take gives me peace. I found that the times that I knew you were working in my life were the times that you led me to places I would never go.
Lord, help me to always keep my focus on you. Don’t let my mind be crowded with concerns that block me from hearing you. May I never ignore you or be too busy to listen to you. I want to always obey you and know that you are in control.
Lord, I want to make a difference. How can I know that the world is a better place because I was a part of it? My greatest sin is not the things that I do, but the things that I don’t do. You have poured blessings upon blessings on me, instead of passing them on to others I have selfishly kept them to myself. I want to learn to serve, to give, to help others. Help me to follow in your footsteps, to not waste my time doing things that have no meaning.

God used a burning bush to get Moses’ attention. God chose Moses to lead Israel out of bondage. God saw how his people were being held slaves. He promised Moses he would be with him.
Father, grant me that peace that passes understanding, that peace you promise in your Word. I want to have that peace when everything seems hopeless. The peace that trusts you no matter what is going on in my life. When I have that peace, I have joy. A peace confirming that nothing can destroy the love and faith I have in you. Thank you for your promise that tells me you will never leave me or forsake me.
I delight in your Word. It is truth, it fills me with wisdom. It reveals your love for me. You shield me from harm, I feel protected. You hear me when I call in distress. Your mercy and compassion never fail me.
When I surrendered my life to you, I became your child. You have set me apart, I am yours, body, soul and mind. My sin nature is still a part of me. The thought that I still sin and offend you drives me to confession. I am forgiven, you restore my peace and joy. That is what the cross accomplished. Your blood covers me, I am pronounced not guilty.
Why am I anxious? Your Word says “Be anxious for nothing but in everything let your requests be known
to God”. As I pray, Lord, free me from my anxious thoughts. Let the knowledge that I am your child, that even if I am considered a failure in the eyes of the world—I am still your child. Nothing can ever take that from me. Having control over everything and focusing on myself increases my anxiety. Let my goal in life be living for you, Lord, and to focus on others rather than myself.

After 400 years another leader emerges, Moses. He will be trained and educated by royalty. Like Abraham he will be a man of faith. He will be a mediator between God and his people.
To read the story of Moses is to see God at work. He is the one that will lead the Israelites out of the slavery that they have been in since the days of Joseph.
Your love is new every morning. It fills my life and strengthens me to face another day. The pain in the world I see today, the feebleness of my body, my weakness to sin, makes me long for the day of your return. I pray, Lord, that until then I might live a life that exalts your name.
You have been with me all of my life. You have strengthened me, you have revealed your love for me. You have prevented me from ruining my life. You are worthy, O Lord, for all my praise, love and obedience.
I am in awe of you, Lord. When I consider the vastness of the universe in which our tiny blue planet spins, I am humbled. And yet, you the creator, loves me and wants to have a relationship with me. It overwhelms me.
You know that I am mortal, but you love me. You know that I am flawed but you redeemed me. You know that I am not perfect, but sent your only Son, as the perfect sacrifice to save me. Thank you, Lord.
I know that so many times I fail you, I sin, but your love is there, drawing me back to you. I can confess and return to you. You always accept me, I feel at peace going back to you. There is no judgment, only love. That unconditional love.
Lord, never let me become so involved in this world that I forget about you. The issues of life and death are in your hands. Whenever my time here is up and you call me home I want to be ready.

Jacob, now called Israel, had a son named Joseph. His love for Joseph and Joseph’s attitude lead to envy and hatred by Joseph’s brothers. Joseph’s saga was full of hardship and trials. But his life ended in triumph. Joseph said, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
Your Word, the Bible, changed my life. It introduced me to Jesus. As I read your Word, help me have a greater understanding, that it become a part of me. Engrave it in my heart and mind. As I read your Word, I get to know you and love you more. It increases my faith. Thank you, Lord, for your Word, you didn’t leave us without instruction. It guides and teaches me how to live my life.
Give me courage, O Lord, when I am discouraged. Don’t let my faith waiver. Instill in me the desire to praise you when I feel that all is hopeless. I know you listen to my prayers. I believe in your promises, in them is my hope.
You are my ruling passion in life. I want to live a life of constant obedience in thought, word and action wherever it might lead. The thought that I may awaken one morning and find that I never got to know you, drives me to my knees. Help me to become what you made me to be.
Your Word says that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Philippians 4:13
I know that things that are impossible in the flesh are more than possible through you. You are my strength.
Faith is the conviction that there is more to life than I see. Without you I would never come to a real vision of what life is about. Lord, I want to see. I want to see your vision for my life.

Isaac had twin sons, Jacob and Esau. Even before they were born, they were struggling together in the womb of their mother. Foreshadowing the later conflict of the nations.
O my God, who searches the minds and hearts, search my heart and see if there is any sin or wickedness in me. Help me lead a life full of your Spirit, always following your lead. My heart’s desire is to live a life pleasing to you
I find that the more I know you, the more I love you. Reading your Word, spending time with you is what increases my faith and love for you. I pray that I will always take the time and have the desire to stay in your Word. The love letter that you left me.
Abba Father, I praise you! You are worthy, my God, of all my praise and worship. Thank you for saving me and adopting me into your family. I surrender every area of my life to you. At this time in my life let me know what I can do. I want to live a life that glorifies you.
Awaken me each day, Lord, with enthusiasm, that I have another day to do what you have planned for me. Holy Spirit, guide me through the day and keep me from sinning or offending you, my Lord and Savior.
Lord, never let me become so satisfied or comfortable in this world that I forget that this is not my true home. My heart longs for you to come into this world and create a new one. One without the pain, the poverty and the injustice that I see today. With hope, I look ahead, to see the fullness of the Kingdom of God at your Second Coming.
