Today, I had to put my Irish Wolfhound down. She most likely had cancer that was causing her to not eat and she lost the use of her back legs.
I have a very heavy heart with the loss of my kitty less than a month ago, too.
My family and I would appreciate any prayers.

Our pets are one of the most loyal, loving, faithful examples of God’s love on earth loving us unconditionally throughout their lives and their returning to our Heavenly Father leaves such a large hole in our lives! Praise God for the ministry He has blessed you with and how incredibly grateful and appreciative I am to be included in your Group.
It’s going to take time, but what wonderful memories our pets leave us with. May I suggest you print a collage of pictures of your family with both your dog and cat, and hang it on a wall, as sweet remembrances of your time together.

I am so sorry for your loss of your kitty and now your Irish Wolfhound.
I know we do all we can to keep them alive as long as possible. But when they are sick, as for me, I spent a lot of time treating them at the vet to the point I had to ask myself knowing my kitty was probably in pain, was I keeping her a live for me to be happy? When she was so on happy. That is when I placed her in God’s hands.
So this is what comes to mind, and I hope it helps you too.
God made that covenant not only with Noah and his descendants but with the animals also.
“And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you; the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth.” Genesis 9:9,10
Read Genesis 9:8-17 for all the details. God must have considered the animals important, since He emphasized that they were included in that covenant.
Jesus said that God is aware when even a sparrow falls to the ground. God is more loving and compassionate than any human could ever be. In fact, 1 John 4:8 says that God is love. If we are concerned about what happens to the animals we have loved here, God is even more so.
I believe He has provided for them as He has for us.
There is no love quite like the unconditional love of our fur kids…as an animal rescuer and advocate, I know this love and loss all too well.
Praying for our Father to lay his hands of comfort around your broken heart.. and heal that intense grief quickly. In Jesus’s name I pray over your family… Amen

My teaching leader sent this story to me after my kitty passed away 3 years ago. I was so heart broken. Hugs to you dear friend.
A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.
He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.
After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.
When he was standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.
When he was close enough, he called out, ‘Excuse me, where are we?’
‘This is Heaven, sir,’ the man answered.
‘Wow! Would you happen to have some water?’ the man asked.
‘Of course, sir. Come right in, and I’ll have some ice water brought right up.’
The man gestured, and the gate began to open. ‘Can my friend,’ gesturing toward his dog, ‘come in, too?’ the traveler asked.
‘I’m sorry, sir, but we don’t accept pets.’
The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.
After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed.
There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book….
‘Excuse me!’ he called to the man. ‘Do you have any water?’
‘Yeah, sure, there’s a pump over there, come on in.’
‘How about my friend here?’ the traveler gestured to the dog.
‘There should be a bowl by the pump,’ said the man.
They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog. When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.
‘What do you call this place?’ the traveler asked.
‘This is Heaven,’ he answered.
‘Well, that’s confusing,’ the traveler said.
‘The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.’
‘Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That’s hell.’
‘Doesn’t it make you mad for them to use your name like that?’
‘No, we’re just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.’
