Summer Devotional June 16th, 2017

1 Corinthians 9:24:  “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?  Run in such a way as to get the prize.”

A reminder as we head into the weekend of summer busy-ness to keep working for the Lord.  Keep fighting for His plan in your life.  Keep plugging away no matter how overwhelming life may seem.  Keep Him in focus and let the messiness of life and sin fall away.  Our prize is eternal.  Be in it to win it!

Sovereign LORD and Abba Father, I praise you! Please never let me ever outlive my love for you or my heart’s desire to be obedient and pleasing to you!

O Lord God, who searches hearts and minds, please give me an inquiring heart that thirsts after pleasing and obeying you.

Father, in the quietness of this moment, I consciously relax myself in your presence and place the concerns and cares of my heart before you. I confidently place my soul, my future, and my hope in your hands.

  2. Thank you for these tidbits of encouragement and accountability. I love them and look forward to seeing them in my email!!

  3. Just would like to share something that happened to my husband at a grocery store yesterday.

Carl just got back from the grocery store and he said something happened to him that probably will never happen again.

This guy was behind him with 2 bottles of wine and Carl said you go ahead first, I am slow. The cashier counted his wine and he whispered something to the cashier and she continued adding to the bill.

Carl went to pay for his and she said no the guy had already paid for it. Carl told him thank you but he didn’t have to do that. He said today he was doing his Christian duty.

God takes care of us. Isn’t that a lovely story? Now my husband wants to do the same for somebody else. An uplifting experience and it creates a ripple effect.
