Summer Devotional June 9th, 2017

2 Corinthians 9:11:  “You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

Since we do all of our work for God (Colossians 3:23) and we give Him thanks for everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18), He blesses us and in turn we are able to bless others.  So today:  be generous.  Hold the door for someone.  Give a compliment.  Smile.  Give of your time.  Give of your energy.  Give yourself.  It’s nothing compared to what God has given us (Jesus).

  1. I really enjoy and love the short devotional. Straight forward. I look forward to reading them. Thank you

  2. I have hundreds of short prayers that I have collected in my lifetime. Is it okay to share one everyday as part of the devotional? The following is one of them:

Almighty and Holy God, may my life delight you and bring you joy. However, dear Father, I am aware that my character falls far short of your holiness and righteousness, and the mercy and grace I display to others pales in comparison to the mercy and grace you have shown toward me. So please, Father, help me know those areas where I most need to grow to be pleasing to you and to bless others with your grace. Thank you for giving me the Holy Spirit to help transform me.

O LORD Most High, use your Holy Spirit to purify and cultivate my heart so that it is soft and receptive to your will and compassionate to those in need. Make it a holy place for your Spirit to live. Heavenly Father, give me a passionate desire to know You and Your Son. Please stir my heart for this, the greatest of all pursuits, so that I might grow ever closer to You. Amen.
