Hey all!
I was thinking what I could do to stay in the Word during the summer and devotionals came to mind. But simple devotionals. Something to keep those of us who struggle without accountability accountable. And blogging here with you all will help me (and I pray you all too) immensely.
So three times a week (Mon/Wed/Fri baring vacations) I’ll post one Bible verse and a small commentary. My goal is to keep it short, simple, and pithy. Not to be overwhelming during the summer when we’re all going in a dozen different directions in one day. But just a brief pause to contemplate Him and what He’s doing in our lives. I hope you find this helpful and feedback would be immensely appreciated.
So here’s the first one:
“Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
Difficulties don’t last; they are transitory. My grandmother always used to say in 6 months you’re problems today will be gone, most likely replaced with something else. So quit worrying, give your sorrows, pain, and trouble up to Him and let it go.

This is timely for me as my husband has lost 40 pounds (not trying) since December, 16. His arthritis Dr. told him to get a colonoscopy and upper GI ASAP. That has been a month ago and we are still waiting for the approval from his heart Dr. I had a breakdown last Saturday and cried my heart out for him as the Dr.s don’t seem to be in a hurry to do anything. I did cry a lot that night and I did feel better on Sunday. The verse is so true and I needed this one.

I love the idea of A Summer Devotional…..let’s do it. I would like to comment about answering personal questions out loud in discussion group. I have been in BSF for 20 years. At first I hated personal questions. I have learned that my vulnerability in answering personal questions is a gift I can give to others. Ladies have thanked me for putting words to personal questions that helped them and in some cases “normalized” their own feelings. So think about vulnerability as a Gift and share how you personally are growing in your faith.

Thank for keeping us connected over the summer. Love the wise words from your Grandmother. There have been tears this weekend as I watched my youngest Graduate from college, then moved her 1000 miles away to live. She sang “God is so good” at worship Sunday and he is, she is in his hands now. Bless you all this summer.
