Bible Prayers: Jacob and Esau

Genesis 25:29-31 “One day when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau arrived home from the wilderness exhausted and hungry. Esau said to Jacob, “I’m starved! Give me some of that red stew!” “All right,” Jacob replied, “but trade me your rights as the firstborn son.”

Bible Prayers

Isaac had twin sons, Jacob and Esau. Even before they were born, they were struggling together in the womb of their mother. Foreshadowing the later conflict of the nations.

O my God, who searches the minds and hearts, search my heart and see if there is any sin or wickedness in me. Help me lead a life full of your Spirit, always following your lead. My heart’s desire is to live a life pleasing to you

I find that the more I know you, the more I love you. Reading your Word, spending time with you is what increases my faith and love for you. I pray that I will always take the time and have the desire to stay in your Word. The love letter that you left me.

Abba Father, I praise you! You are worthy, my God, of all my praise and worship. Thank you for  saving me and adopting me into your family. I surrender every area of my life to you. At this time in my life let me know what I can do. I want to live a life that glorifies you.

Awaken me each day, Lord, with enthusiasm, that I have another day to do what you have planned for me. Holy Spirit, guide me through the day and keep me from sinning or offending you, my Lord and Savior.

Lord, never let me become so satisfied or comfortable in this world that I forget that this is not my true home. My heart longs for you to come into this world and create a new one. One without the pain, the poverty and the injustice that I see today. With hope, I look ahead, to see the fullness of the Kingdom of God at your Second Coming.
