Summer Devotional: 1 Peter 4:10

1 Peter 4:10:  “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

You are gifted.  There is something (no matter how little) that you do better than anyone else.  Use it.  Share it.  Live it.  Be blessed because of it.

There is a purpose is what you do.  Even when the drudgery seems unbearable and all you want to do is quit.  Don’t.  Pray instead.  Ask God to show you His purpose.  His calling.  His will for your work.

Deuteronomy 7:6:  “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God.  The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the people on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.”

You are chosen.  You are special.  You are loved.  You are His.  Please, please, please remember this!

Proverbs 22:6:  “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”

Great reminder to us parents (and encouragement) to instill in our young ones a love of God from the beginning.

Hebrews 4:12:  “For the Word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

God’s Word is powerful.  Seek solace within them.  Wield wisely.  Defend dutifully.  Cower justly.

Summer Devotional: Psalm 86:11

Image result for undivided heartPsalm 86:11:  “Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.”

We cannot serve two masters.  We are stronger together.  Stay united for Jesus.  One heart.  One soul.  One mind.

James 1:12:  “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

No matter what you are going through, God is going through it with you.  He never forsakes you.  He is there always.  When you’re sleeping.  When you’re crying.  When you’re laughing.  Always.  He has a purpose.  Latch on to that.  And let all worries fade away to dust…

Summer Devotional: Psalm 130:3

Psalm 130:3:  “If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?

Every day is a new beginning.  Forgive yourself like God forgives you and stand tall under His power.

Summer Devotional: Hebrews 13:17

Hebrews 13:17:  “Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.  They keep watch over you as men who must give an account.  Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

In today’s words:  Let God handle politics.  You vote.  Then you support.  God will put in charge whom He deems for His purposes.  Quit worrying, complaining, and mourning.  Save that energy for Him!

2 Timothy 1:7:  “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”

You are powerful.  You have power.  You will do great things.  Believe.
