I now pray this virtually every time I pray.
God, will you pet my dog for me? She probably needs a pet. She liked to be petted but unlike her brother never demanded it. She’d sometimes bark at him when he was hogging all the love, but she never once refused a pet.
It’s been one month now since I lost my precious and not a day goes by I don’t think of her. We all do. We talk about her all the time. We’ve all written songs about her and we play them frequently. She sits in a special spot on our bookcase and we are in the process of making her a memorial with her pictures.
And I know your brother misses you so!
He’s bored without you. Nothing to do. And I pray he howls again since he hasn’t since you’ve left.
But he’s hanging in there. Getting all the leftovers and all the love. Gets both dog pillows too. Something I’m sure you wouldn’t mind.
He goes where I go. Even took him for a car ride when it was thundering out (since he’s afraid of the thunder). He seemed happy although I think you were the only one who truly knew that or not.
We’re planning our hunting trip again. I still look at that photo of both of you in the mountains from last year. I think your brother will be happy when he goes. Maybe he’ll get to drink some deer blood like last year! Maybe he’ll get to chase an elk for me. But I know he’ll get to smell all the smells only dogs are privileged to smell.
Still, it won’t be the same without you. Trying to lay with us when it got too cold. Guarding the camp.
Simply being there when Mommy needed a pet.
Bay, I miss you. So, so much.
Bay is with the one who made her, the one who loves her even more than you do. He saw to it that Bay lived with you, didn’t he? His watch and care for his creation does not end when they leave this life. I pray constantly that when the day of the rapture comes God will take care of all our pets. Do you think they will come too? I trust God, but sure wish I knew his plan for them.
I just recently lost my Sweet Sara my pet of 12 years. I know she is with God and having a grand time with her ” brothers and sister”. Miss you so much!!!!!
Hugs AtoZ. I know the pain you’re feeling. It’s heart wrenching. I’m so sorry.
I lost my German Shepard a month ago as well. Kira was 18 years old and left her brother here as well. Thank you for posting this. Encouraging to know others love their dogs like the souls that they are. I’ll be praying that God be petting both our baby girls.
Thanks again

I do know how you are feeling. Everything you do daily will remind you of your dear Bay. I lost my beloved pet 4 years ago, and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. I choke up, I cry and then I remember all the little things that made my life so beautiful with her near. She was and is a part of me, and nothing can change that.
I know that God has her now, and He is holding her in His loving arms and will present her to me when I meet Him face to face in Heaven. I can picture Him holding her in His arms.
There is a website on the Internet where you can put up a photo and a few words about your beloved Bay.
Keep praying and God will assure you that Bay is with Him and that she is in Paradise.
God bless you and yours.
My heart hurts for you. I have been in your position before. It has been 10 years and I still think of her everyday.
:-(. Made me tear up for you today.
It does get better. It’s been 4 months since our old dog, Blue left us. Still miss her but it hurts a bit less now.
Oh wow…I do BSF and was looking around your site and saw your precious Mastiff’s…I raise and show Great Danes and just had to rely…
Hi,
I’ve been reading your incite on these bsf studies for a while now. They are great. I just wanted to mention that I know exactly how you are feeling or how you felt a month ago, right when you lost your dog. My cat, Simon, just passed away last night. It was soooo hard to see him leave this world. He was 17 years old and lived a good life. I had lost a cat about two years ago and now Simon. I thought I’d be easier because I expected that any day lately would be his last and that because I’ve already experienced the loss of one cat… It’d be easier. But it’s not. I’ve been crying all last night and today and don’t know when I will be able to stop. He was alive almost my entire life. I am 21. I pray that you will be able to be comforted by knowing that you gave your dog all the love you could and that she loved you back. I have to think the same thing. God has given us pets as gifts and they should be cherished.
With love,
Your sister in Christ.
My heart is pounding as I write this because perhaps my dog would still be alive if I would have taken Bengie into emergency sooner, today is 10-28-2012 it’s been amost five hours when I received the call from the emergency vet office that Bengie passed away I feel that my life will be changed for many years to come knowing that if I taken her in sooner the outcome would have been different the cost was’nt a problem my waiting thinking she was going to get better was.
This happen twice befor a few hours later she was fine today was not the case. it was my foolish stupid mistake with only me to blame.
For anyone that reads this never think for a second it is the same as before take her / him in soon as possible no matter what it takes.
Garrett, please don’t do this to yourself. You did the best you could with what you knew at the time. You didn’t know what was happening. All of us with pets are in the same position at one time or another. God has compassion on all he has made.
