Passage John 1:14

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Questions for John 1:14

15 ) Just what a miracle the birth of Jesus was. This study has really drove home the entire magnitude and significance of Jesus’ birth and how it changed the world in one instant. I love the Magi’s long journey based solely on faith. I love God’s intervention to derail Herod’s schemes. I just love how the hand of God works all things for our good.

16) Jesus’ birth and belief in the One, True God changes how you live, your priorities, and what matters in this world. I want to live more for my family and for what God wants for me in this world. The consequences of unbelief is eternal hell.

The divine Word took on human flesh and made His home among us, revealing the Father’s true glory, completely full of unfathomable grace and truth.

Summary of John 1:14

Questions for John 1:14

12 ) I wish for more of all of those. Who doesn’t want more peace, grace, and truth in their life? I know peace. I try to understand grace as Christ offers it to me and try to offer grace to others. I know the truth in Christ.

13) As the Word. As glorious. As full of grace and truth. As one who came from the Father. It really doesn’t say what it takes to know him. But, if you know he is the truth, that’s the crux of the matter.

14) Jesus is God who is our Creator. He is in full control with power over all. Humans are frail, imperfect, and full of sin. Jesus is perfect, free from sin, and our hope.

The Word became human and lived among us. We witnessed His glory—the radiant glory of the Father’s one and only Son, overflowing with grace and truth.

Summary of John 1:6-13

The light came into the world to give the right to become children of God born of god although the world did not recognize Him.

Questions for John 1:6-13

9 ) I can just tell those I meet about Jesus and what he has done for me. I can serve others and demonstrate his grace. In short, I can aim to do what Jesus would do!

10) True. Without God, you have no purpose. Without the true God—our Creator—we lack the ultimate standard for truth, identity, and morality, leaving us blindly guessing our purpose in a broken world.

11) Receive is accept or believe in him. Believe is to have faith in who Jesus is. New birth is born again as a believer into the family of God.

John was sent by God to be a witness to the light. Though the world rejected Him, those believing in Jesus received the right to become spiritually reborn children of God.

I love how all we have to do is believe, and the rest is taken care of. So, so amazing!

Summary of John 1:4-5

The Word is light and life of the world.

Questions for John 1:4-5

6 ) Physically, they mean literal illumination and obscurity. Spiritually, “light” represents God’s divine truth, life, and purity, while “darkness” symbolizes spiritual blindness, evil, Satan, and separation from Him. Spiritually, God’s “light” shines through love, kindness, and moral clarity, while “darkness” appears as selfishness, injustice, sin, and the brokenness we see in society daily.

7) People will look for satisfaction or safety in anything and everything: spouse, friend, their job, money, etc. Consequences of moving away from the light is a life without Christ, meaning, and purpose, as well as a propensity for sin. It leads to spiritual blindness, moral confusion, and deep emptiness, ultimately separating people from God’s guidance, truth, and eternal peace.

8 ) To always follow the light!

In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. This light shines brightly in the darkness, which can never overcome it.

Summary of John 1:1-3

In the beginning was God and Jesus, the pre-incarnate. All things were made through Jesus.

Questions for John 1:1-3

3 ) The Word was in the beginning. The Word was with God. The Word was God. Jesus has always existed. Jesus has always been with God. Jesus is part of the Triune God with God and the Holy Spirit.

4) Both phrases emphasize that God the Father and God the Son existed together from eternity, sharing an unbroken, equal relationship before time and creation even began.

5) Jesus always has been and will be. This is so comforting in life. And, recognizing Jesus as the ultimate source of life and love humbles us, transforming how we value others and inspiring selfless, grace-filled relationships.

In the beginning, the Word existed with God and was God. Through Him, all things were created, and absolutely nothing exists apart from Him.

If nothing exists apart from God, then why would YOU want to exist without God?

Summary of John 1:1-14

In the beginning was God and Jesus. All things were made through Jesus. He was life. He defeats evil. John was a witness to Jesus. Jesus came but many did not recognize him. He came to the Jews who rejected him. All who did believe became children of God. Jesus became flesh and dwelt with us.

Questions for John 1:1-14

1 ) Jesus existed before all of creation. All things were made through him. He was life. He defeats evil. In John 1, God the Son stands out as the eternal Word, existing with God and as God, who actively created everything before taking flesh.

2) I have a lot of uncertainty right now in my life and decisions to make about my future. Knowing Jesus is with me makes all the difference!

Jesus, the divine Word and Creator, came into the dark world as a human to bring light, grace, and the power to become God’s children through faith!

“This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham”

Questions for Matthew 1:1

15) Dear Lord, Thank you for sending your Son to die for my sins. I honor you and praise you always. You are in control and the ruler of the heavens and the earth. I thank you that you speak to me, warn me, and lead me to you. Human words are never enough to sing your praises, but I do my best!

16) By following Jesus, I am allowing Him to use me to fulfill His purposes, most of which are unknown to me. I try to always impact my family and then those who see my walk.

Summary of Matthew 2:9-12

The Magi followed the star to Jesus. They bowed down and worshiped him. They gave Jesus gifts and returned home without reporting back to Herod.

Questions for Matthew 2:9-12

12) The Magi followed the star that went ahead of them. It stopped over the place where Jesus was. They bowed down to worship and brought their best gifts. This is what we should do, too.

13) That God is omniscent, omnipotent, and good. He wants the best for me. He has my back. He made the ultimate sacrifice (the gift of His Son) so I could be with Him always. What more could you ask for?

14) God sent a dream to the Magi, warning them not to report back to Herod and He guides them to worship Jesus, too. This shows that God’s relationship with people is intimately protective, actively involved, and globally accessible. He doesn’t just watch from a distance; He sovereignly orchestrates history, communicates directly with those seeking Him, and faithfully shields His people to ensure His divine purposes are fulfilled.

Conclusions to WordGo Born to Dwell: Christ’s Incarnation: Week 3, Day 5: Matthew 2:9-12

Guided by the star, the Magi find the child, worship Him with treasures, and return home via another route after a divine dream warns against Herod.

We see the best of God in this passage! He guides us to His Son to worship Him. Then God protects us from evil, too. This is all of Christianity in a nutshell! God is for everyone!

Summary of Matthew 2:3-8

King Herod learned that Jesus was to be born in Bethlehem. He knew about the star appearing and asked the Magi to find Jesus and report back so that he may go and worship him, too (a lie, by the way. Herod wishes to kill Jesus).

Questions for Matthew 2:3-8

9) The Magi traveled a long distance and searched for Jesus to worship him. King Herod was disturbed at the news of Jesus’ birth and told the Magi to seek out Jesus and report back their findings so that he could worship Jesus, too. There are those who seek Jesus to know him and those who seek Jesus to destroy him in the world today, too.

10) Herod knew that Jesus was predicted to be the King of the Jews, which threatened his position as ruler of Judea. Thus, he really meant to harm Jesus. This warns us to always be vigilant against those who may be threatened by us, jealous, or prideful.

11) I wish King Herod and Jerusalem had known who Jesus was and his purpose on earth — to save us all from our sins. I know for certain that Jesus is the Savior of the World!

King Herod and Jerusalem are deeply disturbed by news of a rival king; Herod secretly plots to kill the child under the guise of worship.

We must be on the lookout for those who are against us due to our belief in Jesus.

Summary of Matthew 2:1-2

The Magi search for the King of the Jews after having seen his star.

Questions for Matthew 2:1-2

6) The Magi were from the east and were looking for the King of the Jews to worship. I would like to know everything about these Magi: where they were from exactly, what they were wearing, the length of their trip, why they decided to follow the star, etc.

7) In many ways. Obviously, by need, but also by nature, and a need to find a higher purpose than myself. God draws people through His unconditional love, the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, the truth of Scripture, and the life-changing gospel of Jesus.

8 ) Today, Jesus is in heaven seated at the right hand of the Father until he comes again. Unsure about others. Perhaps,some may say that Jesus lives within the hearts of believers, is present everywhere, or exists merely in historical memory (unbelievers).

God drew the Magi to worship Him with the star in heaven. God drew them to Him. Lord, do the same for me!
