Conclusions to Week 1 and Philippians: Confident in Christ

Great words from Paul that we can return to when we are discouraged and feeling lost in this life. Believing God has got you and your way is all you need in this world.

We need to lift up our brothers and sisters more in prayer because, odds are, they are struggling but not telling us about it. We all need to have each other’s backs!

Questions for Philippians 1:9-11

12) Paul prays for the Philippians’ love to abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight  so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ. Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Philippians: Confident in Christ: Week 1, Day 4: Philippians 1:7-8

Summary of Philippians 1:7-8

Paul defends his love for the Philippians and their union in Christ.

Questions for Philippians 1:7-8

9) Paul has the Philippians in his heart (he loves them), and all of them share in God’s grace with him.

10) We all have the Holy Spirit inside of us. This is a gift from Christ and a source of power for us. We are justified by faith. We are sanctified by Christ as we grow more like him every day. Grace alone allows us to love one another. Otherwise, our sinful nature would always have an ulterior motive. Grace is our model for love. It transforms the human heart. And, it allows us to love in difficult circumstances.

11) Most likely. Sometimes, it’s hard enough just to work on my spiritual growth, let alone others’. With love and grace, we can help others, too!

Conclusions to WordGo Philippians: Confident in Christ, Philippians 1:7-8

We should all look at others (especially believers) with grace. We should pray for others to grow closer to Christ. We should pray for others’ journey to Christ.

We should just pray!

Conclusions to WordGo Philippians: Confident in Christ, Philippians 1:6

God works in us so that we can complete the work He gives us to do. God uses the Holy Spirit within us to produce a responding faith.

God does it all; we do nothing. We cannot overcome sin without God’s grace.

God always finishes what He begins, which includes the works in us.

When we doubt, we know that God will do it. Rest in that!
