Image result for heavenly things

Dear Father, you have blessed me with so many wonderful blessings. I thank you for each and every one of them. At the same time, I do long to be brought into your presence in glory as your child. The pain and heartache of the world, the fragility of my body, and my frustration with my own vulnerability to sin keep me longing for the day that your Son returns in glory. Until that day help me as I try to be your holy child.

Forgive me, Heavenly Father, for the times that I have lost my sense of urgency to live for Jesus. Use the Holy Spirit within me to arouse my passions to serve him with my eyes wide open and heart set on heavenly things. I know you can, and will do more than I ask or imagine, but please, awaken me to dream great dreams and imagine great things for your glory.

Thank you, Father, for giving me a window to your heart through the life and ministry of Jesus. Please bless me as I seek to know you better by knowing, understanding, and following Jesus more passionately.

Please bless my family with insight and illumination about You and Your glory. Please reveal yourself to them as You did with me.

Amen.

God’s Faithfulness

GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

God’s faithfulness keeps me alive
I used to be so unaware
I know now how to survive
When I pray I know He’s there

I didn’t want to let Him in
But He wouldn’t give up on me
He just kept right on knocking
Waiting so patiently

He knew I belonged to Him
Chosen before time began
He wouldn’t easily let me go
He loved me, sinning as I was

Once I opened that locked door
His love took over my life
How did I miss it before
His faithfulness was my guide

Now I am so aware
I see His faithfulness everywhere
In gratitude I kneel in prayer
My life surrendered in His care.

Comments on God’s Faithfulness

Why did it take me so long? I think back and realize He
was always there. What made me finally look and
know that is was all true.

My first look was in the Bible, but even then I did not
look with an open heart. I remember being so skeptic.
The one thing I did right, I kept seeking. I was about to
give up. I sincerely cried out and asked
“Are You really there?”

God was faithful. I have since read in the Bible
“Seek and you will find me when you seek me with all
your heart”. God kept that promise and my life
changed.

There is no secret. You have to really want it, want to
know Him.

God will be faithful to the end. I almost rejected Him
completely but He would not let me go. I thank God
that He did not let my heart become hardened.

I would not have survived.

Jeremiah 29:13 NIV
“You will seek me and find me when you
seek me with all your heart”

Remember Our Blessings…

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday this week, in lieu of prayer requests I’d like to have a post devoted to God’s blessings and praises–what God has given us instead of what He hasn’t yet (which He has we just can’t see it).

Too often (myself included) we forget out blessings and instead focus on the little setbacks in life.  Granted, sometimes the setbacks are big but God is always in the midst.

Just some of my blessings:

I am blessed by my husband who sacrifices time with his family so we can live a good life. I am blessed to be able to write to you, to afford Internet, and to write somewhat intelligently.  I am blessed being able to take guitar lessons and learn alongside my kids. They are blessed in this as well.

I lead a pretty good life.  I don’t have to work.  I spend all my time with my kids.  I get to do whatever I want most of the time.

Sure, my husband is struggling in his career.  But God is there.  By his side the entire time.  And God’s faithful to move him where He wants him.

I am blessed by my three beautiful children who God has entrusted to me to raise in His name.

I am blessed that I still have one dog whose unconditional love is hard to surpass.

I am blessed with a home, a family, food, clothing, and shelter.  I am blessed by my blog and spreading His message.  I am blessed by BSF and the Bible, God’s word.  I am blessed by Him.

I am blessed by you all and your words of wisdom, different view points, prayers, encouragements, disagreements, opinions, answers, questions, challenges, and advice.  I am grateful for each and every one of you who visit and my heart sings when you post your thoughts and prayers here.  God bless you all.

What are your blessings?
