Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Study of Hebrews: Week 1, Day 3: Hebrews 3

SUMMARY OF HEBREWS 3:

Jesus, who is the apostle and high priest, was faithful to God and worthy of more honor than Moses. God is the builder of everything. Jesus is faithful as a son over God’s house.

The author of Hebrews quotes Psalm 95:7-11, which says to be faithful to God’s voice. Don’t turn away from God in unbelief. Instead, encourage one another so that no one will have a hard heart towards the Lord. We will share in Christ if we are faithful. Unbelief leads to God’s anger and you will not enter eternal rest if you don’t believe.

QUESTIONS FOR HEBREWS 3:

7) Both Jesus and Moses were faithful to God. However, Moses was faithful as a servant; whereas, Jesus was faithful as God’s son. So Jesus is worthy of more honor accordingly. Moses testified to the future; Jesus is the future. Moses was a servant in God’s house; Jesus is the owner of that house. Moses loved God; Jesus is God.

8 ) Fixing our thoughts on God and Jesus help us to avoid sin’s deceitfulness and turn to unbelief. You can fix your thoughts on Jesus by praying, listening to and for His voice, and following His ways always.

9) Just going to church and being around those who are strong in the faith has helped me. Attending Bible conferences helps, either at your church or regionally. Just continually having a strong network of Christian friends keeps me in the Word and following His way and not the world’s.

CONCLUSIONS TO WORDGO HEBREWS 3

Great lesson about how Jesus is above all. We are now God’s house, thanks to Jesus. This allows us to go directly to God. This is itself amazing.

Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Study of Hebrews: Week 1, Day 2: Hebrews 2

SUMMARY OF HEBREWS 2:

The writer of Hebrews warns us to pay attention to what you hear so you don’t drift away from God. The salvation you need to hear by announced by God and confirmed by those that heard him. Plus, there were signs, wonders, and miracles to confirm it.

Everything was put under Jesus, including the angels and subject to him. Jesus is made perfect through suffering.

Jesus was made human so that he could share in their humanity. His death destroyed the devil’s power over them and freed them from the fear of death. Jesus became a merciful high priest to God to atone for humanity’s sins. He can help those who are tempted because Jesus was tempted, too.

QUESTIONS FOR HEBREWS 2:

4) Everything was put under Jesus, including the angels and subject to him. Jesus is made perfect through suffering.

6) Fear I’ll not have enough time to accomplish God’s role for me here. Jesus has the power to defeat every sin. Trust in him.

CONCLUSIONS TO WORDGO HEBREWS 2

I love the book of Hebrews and am super excited to be reading it again. I love this passage about Jesus being like us for us. He did so much for us. Paying attention to him is what we need to do more of.

Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Study of Hebrews: Week 1, Day 1: Hebrews 1

SUMMARY OF HEBREWS 1:

God has spoken to us (meaning the Jews) through his Son, Jesus, recently instead of using the prophets or by other means. Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory, and after he completed his work to purify us of our sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, superior to angels. Angels are merely ministering spirits sent to those who will inherit salvation.

QUESTIONS FOR HEBREWS 1:

  1. I love the book of Hebrews, and I love how the author lays out that Jesus is God in Verse 3, superior to all. I also like how angels are inferior to Christians in Verse 14.
  2. Jesus is superior to angels because he sits by God’s right hand, he is God’s son, and angels are to worship Jesus.
  3. All of God’s plan is perfect, good, and true. Only God can divine such perfection, and the connections in the Bible are for us so we can know God’s Word is true.

CONCLUSIONS TO WORDGO HEBREWS 1

The book of Hebrews quotes the Old Testament more than 80 times as the author tries to show the Jewish people the reasons that Jesus is God’s son and why they should believe in him.

I love the Insights into the questions here. I like reading what bible scholars/BSF has to say on the passage.
