SUMMARY OF MATTHEW 5:13-16
Jesus calls believers the salt of the earth, but we must maintain our salt or we will be lost.
Jesus calls believers the light of the world, and like a city on the hill, your light cannot be hidden. Let your light shine as a testament to God so that others may come to know him.
Questions for Matthew 5:13-16
12) Salt preserves food and enhances the taste of food. It also prevents decay of the food. Salt is also necessary for humans to live. Christians help prevent decay by helping others find Christ. We also are distinct from others.
13) Light allows us to see. Christians are to illuminate or make visible Christ. Our good works are to shine for all to see. We are to be the light, the TRUTH, in a dark world.
14) Humble, God-centered, living out the Gospel, speaking God’s truth, spreading the Word. We shine our light to others by living a Godly life.
Conclusions to WordGo Sermon on the Mount Matthew 5:13-16
God puts us where He wants us to be to make a difference in this world.
We guard against being diluted and being too harsh to offend others.
When we surrender to God and are made holy, we can grow strong in Him. Every day we grow stronger with prayer, Bible study, speaking to other Christians, and helping others.
We must use our circumstances (no matter how much we do not like them) to shine beauty into the world and those around us.
Slowly, you will become who God created you to be. God will bless you. Hold on to that fact no matter what anyone or anything tells you.
