Paul is sorrowful over Israel. He wishes he were cursd to bring Israel back to God. This shows the heart of Jesus.

Israel was blessed. But they were not grateful. They died waiting to enter the Promised Land.
Therefore, the Corinthians should avoid the Israelites’ bad example. They should not be idolaters, commit sexual immorality, not test Christ, or grumble. They serve as warnings for us. Be careful to not fall.
