REFLECTION QUESTIONS FOR PROVERBS 3:5-6

15) I hope I’m on the path to wisdom. I hope I make wiser decisions and listen to where God is sending me.

16) All hard work brings a profit. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. The Lord works out everything to its proper end. I need to pray for direction in my life. That the Lord puts the right people in my life to help me accomplish my goals. I need to practice extreme discipline once my path is set.

Dear Lord, please put the right people in my path to accomplish my goals if they are your goals for the next phase in my life. Give me the daily strength to take steps to accomplish these goals. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

A wife of noble character is worth far more than rubies. She lacks nothing of value. She brings her husband good. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. Her lamp does not go out at night. She helps the poor. Her children arise and call her blessed. Woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Questions for Proverbs 30 and 31

12) “I am weary, God, but I can prevail.” It gives me the will to keep going and striving for my goals.

Summary of Proverbs 28

Righteous are bold as a lion. Those who seek God understand what is right. Blessed are those who tremble before God. A faithful person will be richly blessed. Those who trust in the Lord will prosper. Those who give to the poor will lack nothing.

Summary of Proverbs 29

Discipline your children, and they will give you peace. They will bring you the delights you desire. The lowly in spirit gain honor. Whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. The righteous care about justice.

Questions for Proverbs 28 and 29

9) Leaders maintain order, support the poor, and righteous rulers cause their people to rejoice. Unsure. I don’t think I lead at all in my community.

10) Work hard and give to the poor. Be discerning. A faithful person will be richly blessed. Unsure what will change. Hopefully, God’s will be done.

11) When the righteous triumph, there is great elation; but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding. I think people know when good people are in charge and bad people are. Our lives are better when our leaders look out for our best interests.

Summary of Proverbs 14

Wise woman builds her house with her own hands. Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly. Stay away from fools. The tent of the upright will flourish. The wise fear the Lord and shun evil. All hard work brings a profit. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life. Whoever is patient has great understanding.

Summary of Proverbs 16

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. The Lord works out everything to its proper end. Do not be proud at heart. How much better to get wisdom than gold. Pride goes before destruction. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness. Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.

Questions for Proverbs 14 and 16

6) They fear the Lord, they are honest, discerning, and thoughtful. They are kind, patient, and humble. Patient and humble.

7) God is in charge. He knows my next steps. He will lead and guide me.

8 ) A fool’s mouth lashes out with pride, but the lips of the wise protect them. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Kings take pleasure in honest lips. The lips of a king speak as an oracle, and his mouth does not betray justice. I have always been curt, so I’m always working on my mouth. I now take my time more before I speak and take the time I need before I respond. I try to be understanding and nice in all my communications.

Look to wisdom and understanding to understand the fear of the Lord and find His knowledge. Then you’ll understand what is right and just. Wisdom will save you from wicked men and adulterous women. Then you will walk in the ways of the good.

5) Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own decision. I am trying to make a major life decision and am praying it is from God. I want to teach my kids to keep God’s teaching in their hearts.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS FOR PSALM 16:8

15) Those against the Lord will be judged; those for the Lord will be rewarded and saved. It’s a universal problem of sin that there is evil in the world, that bad things happen, and that there’s not a whole lot we can do about it except turn to God. God is the global solution. Trust in Him for all things, including for the state of the world.

16) This is a tough question because all of them had things that spoke to me. I’m gonna go with Psalm 22. I pray, Lord, that you guide my path and that it be your path. You know my heart’s desire, and I pray you help me make that come true. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Great readings in Psalms. Always there is doubt and evil, but God and Jesus win in the end, which is the greatest story ever told!

Summary of Psalm 2

Men plot in vain against God. God laughs and says He has installed his king on Zion. He warns the rulers to be wise and to serve the Lord with fear. The Son will lead to their destruction if they don’t.

Summary of Psalm 16

David prays to God to be kept safe. He takes refuge in God. Apart from God, he has nothing. God is his portion and his cup. He praises God and keeps his eye on him. God will make know to him the path of life and fill him with joy.

Summary of Psalm 22

David asks God why he has forsaken him. He trusts God, but asks God not to be far from him. God is his strength and deliverer. God rescues him, and David praises God and his righteousness.

Summary of Psalm 110

God says to his lord (Jesus) to sit at his right hand and he will make enemies at his feet. You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. The Lord is at his right hand. He will judge the nations.

Questions for Psalms 2, 16, 22 & 110

12) Nations and people conspire against God. They say God is too restrictive and that there is no freedom from obeying God. The same. People don’t like what God has to say, so they do their own way — to their own detriment.

13) I praise God for this life, for what he has given me, for his undying faithfulness, and his forever guidance. God delivers me each and every day from sin, and I am grateful.

14) Jesus is God. He is seated at God’s right hand. He is the priest in the order of Melchizedek. He will crush kings and judge the nations. He will lift his head high. Jesus is our almighty savior. I respond with utter surrender.

Lots of reading today! I love how David doubts, but he never gives up on God. That’s what we must do. The Psalms are full of some of life’s great nuggets that we can grab onto and use in our times of need.

Summer Bible Study: WordGo’s Study of Wisdom: Week 2, Day 4: Psalms 7, 10 & 13

Summary of Psalm 7

David prays fo God to deliver him from those who pursue him. He finds refuge in God and prays that if he has done evil to be killed. He asks God to judge the people and bring justice and end the wicked. His shield is God, and those who are evil will bring violence on their own heads. He gives thanks to God for his righteousness and praises Him.

Summary of Psalm 10

David asks God why he stands far off at times. Those who do evil believe God won’t notice them. David asks God to not forget the helpless. He asks God to hold those accountable for their wickedness.

Summary of Psalm 13

David again asks God why he is forgotten and why God hides his face from him. He asks for answers. Yet, David trusts in God’s unfailing love, and he praises Him.

Questions for Psalms 7, 10 & 13

9) Savior, Deliverer, just, Ruler, Shield, righteous Judge, Father, King, encourager, compassionate, Most High. Savior and encourager matter the most to me right now.

10) Psalm 7 tells us how God grants justice and how He vindicates. Psalm 10 show us how God deals with those who do evil. God always sees the afflicted and defends the fatherless.

11) I think God sees me, but sometimes it feels as if He does not. I am currently waiting answers to a request. Since patience is not a virtue of mine, it’s a bit stressful. Verse 5: I trust in your unfailing love

David praises God for His goodness, how he forgives our sins and heals us. He redeems us and satisfies our desires with good things. He is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love. He does not treat us how we deserve. He loves us and removes our transgressions (sins) from us. He has compassion on us, and His love for us is unending.

Summary of Psalm 139

God knows us completely, even knowing our words before we say them. He knitted us together in our mother’s womb. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. David hates those who rebel against god. God knows our heart and our anxious thoughts. David prays to be lead by God.

Questions for Psalms 103 and 139

These are some of the most often quoted verses in the Bible. Such words of wisdom of David. We should not hide anything from God who knew us before we were born. We should lay it all before Him and ask Him for his guidance. Praising God for all He is and all He does, as well as all that we are, is something we all need to do more of.
